Previous constant Al-shaabab attacks on vehicles plying Garsen-Lamu road has rendered the road insecure for many days, according to intelligence gathered by security forces Al-Shabaab militia were planning to interfere with the smooth running of the elections and the target were likely to be vehicles transferring ballot papers and IEBC officials. This is the very reason as to why all vehicles using the same road must be escorted by security personnel
